Crown Agents USA, Inc. (CA-USA) is seeking a Waste Management Project Advisor for the Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) project located in our Arlington, VA office.

Role & Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Product Quality Manager, the Advisor will coordinate closely with USAID Missions, Field Programs Support, Senior Quality Assurance Advisor, Country Directors, in-country Waste Management Specialists, the Healthcare Waste Management Officer at the Project Management Office (PMO) and others to support the development of country waste management, auditing systems and infrastructure to help assure that the disposal activities are properly conducted and that a sustainable in-country system is established. The Advisor will guide the country programs to conform to standards established at the Program Management Office (PMO) level so that all country conducted activities conform to the same performance standards to protect public health and minimize SCMS liability insurance requirements.
The Waste Management Project Advisor also is responsible for overseeing and/or coordinating development of policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions, where needed, to guide SCMS Country Offices in providing assistance in disposal activities and assure that the efforts comply with SCMS and country requirements.
Specific Responsibilities
•Provide leadership and coordination in the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of procedures and processes used for the disposal of unusable materials.
•Manage development of policies, guidelines, manuals and standard operating procedures for safe and proper disposal of unusable materials.
•Advise the COR on policy interventions needed to spur interest at the level of the mission.
•Oversee establishment of training materials and provide training for country programs and client countries to help assure that inventories, collections, sorting, disposals, etc. are conducted properly and consistent with the PMO requirements.
•Supervise the SCMS Healthcare Waste Management Officer.
•The position may require up to 50% international travel
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Pharmacy, Industrial Engineering or a related field required; Master’s Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Pharmacy, or relevant field desired.
•Fluent in the use of Microsoft or equivalent software information management tools.
•Fluency in French is desired.
•Qualification or certification in best medical and pharmaceutical waste management practices desired.
•Proven team player with the ability to train, tutor & lead.
•Prior demonstrated work experience developing waste management related policies, manuals, and strategies.
•Training in infection control and prevention is an asset.
•Project management expertise is a plus.
•Ability to work collaboratively with national counterparts and build partnerships with peer organizations, and clients strongly desired.
•Passion for working in a values based company.

•Strong leadership and presentation skills.
•Excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of employees.
•Above average written and oral communication skills.
