Deputy Chief Examiner for Film


Through the study and analysis of film texts and exercises in film-making, the Diploma Programme film course explores film history, theory and socio-economic background. The course develops students' critical abilities, enabling them to appreciate the multiplicity of cultural and historical perspectives in film. To achieve an international understanding within the world of film, students are taught to consider film texts, theories and ideas from the points of view of different individuals, nations and cultures.
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is currently seeking to make the appointment of: Deputy Chief Examiner for Film
Applicants must have:
  • experience of large scale/16-18 age assessment
  • academic qualifications at an appropriate level
  • availability to fulfil commitments, attend meetings, meet deadlines and respond to queries
  • enthusiasm for e-marking
  • IB Diploma Programme teaching experience in Film
  • commitment to international education
  • management experience/leadership skills
  • reliable broadband internet connection
  • knowledge of Spanish and/or French would be an advantage.
Senior Examiners supervise a subject's examining teams, maintaining the integrity of IB assessment.
Appointments will last a maximum of five years. Much of the work can be carried out from home; occasional meetings in one of the IB's European offices may be required.
The closing date for applications is Friday 18th January 2013.
Successful applicants will be notified by the end of May 2013.
Appointments will take effect from September 2013.
