The Institute of Industrial Research (IIR) at the University of Portsmouth in collaboration with Datum Electronics Limited (Datum) are seeking an innovative and motivated graduate.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious engineering graduate to fast track their career development as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate. The shorter KTP Scheme allows recently qualified graduates to work in companies managing challenging projects central to their strategic needs. http://www.ktponline.org.uk
The Company:
Datum specialises in the design and manufacture of electronic measurement products. Customers include Rolls Royce, DEFRA, John Deere, Wartsila and BP. Datum is establishing a new data analysis division in Portsmouth to develop a capability to monitor shaft power signals.

The Role:
The objective of this programme is to collect and analyse the valuable data collected from shaft power signals and prove its value in commercial application. You will be fully supported by academic team and Datum to establish this new capability in-house.

To do so, you will be required to have qualifications and experiences in the following areas:
Hold a good Bachelor or Postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Applied Physics Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
An excellent communicator and commercially aware
Self motivation and desire to investigate
Willing to travel and liaise with customers
Experience using Matlab and other programming package or statistical analysis skill is desirable
