MAJOR DUTIES:  Under the immediate supervision of the Building Maintenance Management Supervisor the incumbent:  1) performs a variety of tasks in the annual/monthly/daily maintenance, repair and installation of generators, heating boilers and security barrier hydraulics and electrical works as needed for office facilities and leased properties;  2) direct the work of a trades helper or laborer and provides liaison function with contractors from time to time;  3) drives official car and carries standard tools, equipment, spare parts and materials used in the performance of duties to job site; 
4) indicates on work order, time and materials that have been used for the completion of the assignment and makes suggestions how to maintain equipment;  5) performs emergency repairs after hours when needed;  6) other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Education, skills and experience (65%):  Completion of vocational training or apprenticeship recognized as producing journeyman mechanical skills or equivalent experience. College or university studies providing professional trades training in relevant technical field is desirable. Minimum two years experience as a journeyman responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of diesel generators and boilers, and heavy hydraulic equipment, and working with electrical equipment.  Some experience with the U.S. Government or an international organization is highly desired.  Must have full journeyman knowledge of established practices and procedures in installation, maintenance and repair of diesel boilers, diesel generators, heavy hydraulic and electrical equipment; comprehensive knowledge of safety standards for operations and maintenance of such equipment.  Must be able to perform precise operations, to use all tools of the trade and to handle heavy loads in a safe manner.  Ability to drive vehicles and possession of valid Drivers license category B, minimum 3 years of accident-free driving experience. 
- Teamwork/Interpersonal and Communication Skills (25%):  Ability to work under general supervision and to maintain appropriate records, and plan his own work independently.  Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in carrying out responsibilities; and be customer service oriented.
- Language skills (10%): Rudimentary English (Level I) and good working Knowledge of Russian (Level III) are required so that instructions can be understood.
