Reader/Chair of Law

Full Time:
The appointment will be on UCL Grade.
The salary range will be Salary will either be on the Grade 9 salary scale (equivalent to £51,563 - £56,067 per annum) or the Professorial scale (salary negotiable on appointment but with a minimum starting salary of £62,731 per annum)., inclusive of London Allowance.
The Faculty of Laws at UCL has a world-class academic reputation confirmed by its ranking in the UK government 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE). It is also rated in the highest category in the UK for higher education teaching excellence.
The Faculty now invites applications from outstanding scholars for three Readerships/Chairs in the areas of Commercial/Company Law, Medical Law and Public International Law. The successful candidates will be expected to engage in world leading research, and to provide academic leadership in the development of their subject areas.  It is also expected that the post-holders will contribute to all aspects of the academic life of the Faculty and College. 
The Faculty is willing to consider applicants who may prefer to be appointed on a part-time basis. 
Applicants will need to show demonstrable scholarship in the field of Commercial/Company Law, Medical Law or Public International Law and research of a world class level of excellence (REF 4*).  In addition, to be appointed as a Reader, applicants must demonstrate outstanding contribution to a body of knowledge and an international research profile, and evidence of excellence in teaching and/or evidence of a significant contribution to the management or administration of an academic Department, or Faculty.
To be appointed as a Professor, applicants must demonstrate an outstanding international research profile and evidence of academic leadership and a proven ability to lead, develop and motivate colleagues.
