Position:

Mission Measurement is looking to hire a full-time Director to join our Nonprofit Practice Team. This position is based in Chicago, IL and may require domestic and/or international travel as determined by client engagements.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities for this position include:
  • Account Management: Serve as lead relationship manager for select clients. Interact on a regular basis with clients to understand their needs, provide status updates and communicate the recommendations and analysis of the firm. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior level client decision makers.  Manage client engagement in projects and change management associated with strategic and tactical recommendations made to clients.
  • Engagement Leadership: Guide the timely and cost-effective management of client projects, tracking deliverables, timelines, and progress against goals. Related activities include oversight of primary and secondary research, directing qualitative and quantitative analysis, creating and delivering client presentations. The Director will oversee the work and outputs of Mission Measurement engagement managers and associates within the context of client projects.
  • Business Development:   Support lead generation, project scoping and pricing, proposal development, and overall business development efforts in conjunction with Mission Measurement’s management team.
  • Services Development:   Contribute to the development of new methodologies, client service offerings, and saleable intellectual property.
  • Thought Leadership:   Contribute to advancing the field through publications (blog posts, white papers, articles, etc.), speaking engagements, professional associations, and other high profile activities.  Stay current on policy, regulatory, industry and academic trends in field and sector.

Qualifications:

Candidates for the Director position should be passionate about generating a positive social impact by applying a business-minded approach to the social sector, as well as the following: 
  • Significant experience in evaluation or management or strategy consulting or similar role within an organization
  • Experience involving business development
  • Demonstrated ability to network, build personal and professional relationships, and build longstanding account relationships
  • Experience managing client relationships, serving in a trusted advisor role and leading strategy and/or organizational change in the client context
  • Past exposure to senior y decision makers including but not limited to CEOs; Executive Directors and Foundation Presidents
  • Stewarding projects including ensuring quality of analysis and outputs and managing project profitability
  • Experience in the execution or oversight of measurement and evaluation and high level strategic planning
  • Experience managing teams and stewarding professional development of team members
  • Strong candidates will couple analytical skills with excellent creative thinking and an ability to draw insights from disparate sources that are both quantitative and qualitative in nature
  • Additionally, strong candidates will have a proven ability to navigate ambiguity and succeed in dynamic, entrepreneurial environments
