Tetra Tech (www.tetratechintdev.com) an international consulting firm headquartered in Burlington, VT, has an immediate opening for a training and facilitation assistant in the Training and Facilitation Unit (TFSU) to assist in the design, development, and implementation of internal trainings for the firm’s staff, including our administrative distance-learning Online Trainings for field staff overseas, as well as to carry out administrative tasks supporting the training events. This is a part-time temporary position (6 months, 16 hours per week). The T&F Assistant works under the supervision of the T&F Specialist and overall supervision of the Chief Operating Officer. This position requires excellent editing and writing skills, presentation development skills, the ability to handle large projects under tight deadlines, and effective cooperation in a team environment. Individuals should be comfortable working with highly- educated, subject matter experts who are members of our home office technical staff, and have a strong grounding in the fundamentals of adult learning methods, training design, and experience applying appropriate experiential learning techniques in the implementation of trainings and facilitations. Candidate must be able to create engaging PowerPoint presentations and have a willingness to explore and adapt to new technologies and implement appropriate e-learning applications. This position is tentatively a 6-month temporary position based in the Burlington, VT office. Responsibilities: * Work with home office subject matter experts (SMEs) in the analysis, design and development of engaging and dynamic trainings. * Assist in the implementation of classroom and on-line trainings * Advise and edit PowerPoint and Prezi presentations for effective adult learning content and, when applicable, making appropriate adjustments for non-native speakers * Develop engaging on-line learning modules * Work with existing Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) to enroll users, upload content to courses * Understand and promote various adult training methods to internal clients both in-person and on-line * Resolve content/organizational problems with staff training developers * Collect and analyze training evaluations and make recommendations for improvements * Guide SMEs in the development of pre/post training quizzes *Assist in Training and Facilitation Services Unit administrative tasks as needed, including coordinating and scheduling trainings, providing participation lists, sending reminders, etc.
Essential Qualifications: * Bachelor’s Degree in education, training, organizational development, or a related field (or a combination of education and experience) * Minimum one year professional experience in training field * Solid experience designing and developing training materials that integrate adult learning methods * Knowledge of evaluation methods * Familiarity with and interest in developing engaging and dynamic on-line learning technologies * Prior experience / knowledge of international development desired * Must be exceptionally organized and flexible * Very strong interpersonal and communication skills * Energetic, collaborative team player with a “can do” attitude * Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes intense work environment * Competent in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills; database management, and Prezi experience strongly preferred * Speaking and reading proficiency in at least one foreign language (Arabic, French, and/or Spanish) a plus * U.S. citizenship or a valid U.S. work permit is mandatory.
