Communications and Programme Coordinator

People's P.ow.e.r Collective is a registered Trust in India. Our vision is to help rural and isolated and/or economically disadvantaged communities set up and run their own participatory, community owned and managed, not-for-profit, sustainable radio stations i.e. community radio, as a tool for social and cultural unification, self-development, empowerment and positive social change.
The project will be run by our Programme Director together with a Communications and Programme Coordinator & a Technical Head. We are currently in process of recruiting for the latter two roles, both of whom will be based in Bhanaj for the 18 months along with our Programme Director. This is a fantastic opportunity for these two individuals to join our tight team of dedicated and passionate people at this relatively early stage, so they can be a part of the direction our organisation takes and the kind of work we will do in the future.
Over the next 18 months, we will be working on the ground enabling our rural partner organisation Mandakini Ki Awaz (based in Bhanaj, Uttarakhand) set up and run their community radio station from scratch. Our local community experts have begun field work, meeting with other community members, talking to them about Community Radio and documenting their needs, expectations and hopes of their soon to be station.
