Position Summary
The HV Field Superintendent (Field Lead) is a site based role. They will play a key leadership role, ensuring the site teams meet QGC’s business plan through safe and efficient operations across the Electrical & High Voltage areas including coordination and management of all 3rd parties to the HV network including the LTSA contract. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Key Accountabilities
Position Specific• Implement the strategy and direction at an operational level for all High Voltage (132kV and below) site requirements ensuring a performance culture that achieves Operational Excellence and is consistent with the HV Network Operation Philosophy and as directed by the HV Superintendent.• Work directly with HV Superintendent to manage the HV LTSA contract to ensure the contractor is coordinator effectively and to contract KPIs/ • Work closely with the Field Maintenance Team developing long term planned maintenance and equipment maintenance schedules and coordination of planned outages and shutdowns. • Ensure compliance is met and asset integrity is assured • Provide field based management support and coordination of HV Training deliveries and authorisations in conjunction with the HV Asset REP. • Ensure communication is effectively managed between the site HV operations, the project delivery team projects and expertise in the Brisbane office • Provide essential network coordination redundancy for the HV Network Coordinators in the event of absenteeism or unplanned work / outages. • Deliver an agreed work programme for HV management, through aligning, prioritising, defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and managing a broad range of functional interests. • Provide field based production and cost leadership through direct and proactive communication to the HV Superintendent to achieve, industry best practice as it relates to HV distribution • Influence key areas of HV strategy e.g. development planning, developments, electrical optimisation, generation, front end engineering • Evaluate full implications of actions on profitability, costs and values • Provide a direct field based liaison for Powerlink Qld with regards to long term planned outages, procedural updates / requirements etc. • Keep up to date of short to medium term work programs for the HV network and all associated PTWs for the distribution system. • Continuously assess and assist building organisational capability, assuring technical competencies are met and exceeded • Works cross-functionally to establish effective performance monitoring and reporting • Set clear expectations and follow up to ensure alignment and effectiveness • Oversee and coordinate the testing for all HV/LV equipment • Evaluate and monitor and observe all contractor and third party activities on or in the vicinity of the HV distribution network • Review and update the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Isolation Procedures for HV/LV switching • Ensure all (SOPs) are adhered to in the field • Initiate and deliver improvements to electrical performance and maintenance needs by taking a hands on approach with field electrical operations People Management• Mentor, lead and coach direct reports establishing trust and openness and confidence • Uses positive reinforcement and the accountability framework consistently and appropriately • The incumbent must adhere to the annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE)• Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all personnel working on the assigned field/area • Champion and provide leadership towards delivery of a high performing safety culture and developing a culture of care on site • Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience Needed• Highly experienced in HV electrical distribution operations, preferably with oil & gas or mining operations
• Proven experience managing a significant budget • Demonstrated experience leading change management projects • Demonstrated experience managing, coaching and developing staff; managing performance appraisals and setting objectives
Knowledge, Languages, Skills and Attributes• Qualifications in an electrical or engineering discipline (highly desirable) or relevant industry experience
• Obtained Registered Professional Engineer status of relevant institution is highly desirable. • In-depth knowledge of environmental health and safety legislation and Australian Standards as applicable to the Operation • Be fully knowledgeable of High Voltage Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance to Electrical Licence and regulatory conditions • Highly skilled in developing policies, operating procedures, work and resource plans and schedules as it relates to HV and electrical generation and distribution • In-depth understanding of all relevant legislation, particularly QLD Electrical Safety Act and QLD Electrical Safety Code of Practice • Highly experienced in identifying and managing risks • High level, autonomous decision making • Thorough understanding of all OMS procedures • Highly knowledgeable of current external trends and maintains awareness of market and competitor activities • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with proven ability to engage with a broad spectrum of people • Active team player, participating in the attainment of team goals, encouraging and leading continuous improvement • Ability to think widely to solve complex technical problems using innovative solutions • Highly effective stakeholder management skills • Excellent time management skills • Commitment to safety | ||||||||||||||||||||||
