The Organisation
QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets.

We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel.

QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors. 
Position Summary
The incumbent is responsible for providing support to the C&P Manager Well Engineering for all project activities within Well Engineering.
Key Accountabilities
Position SpecificSupporting the C&P Manager and Category Managers in:
• Establishing and delivering contracts against execution plans for an assigned area of responsibility
• Working with Category Manager in preparing and managing the creation of contracting strategy for area of responsibility which includes spend analysis, development of cost models and consumption/demand profiles
• Has responsibility for input on assuring a strategic approach to the development of the strategy and commodity management plan is consistent with corporate and project goals and interfaces
• Preparing and managing the contract review process
• Compiling ITTs (Invitation to Tenders) and Evaluation Plans necessary to implement project execution strategies and Contract Plans
• Coordinating the bidding, evaluation and award process in accordance with agreed plans and company procedures
• Post award contracts administration
• Following a thorough and systematic approach in managing contractual matters between company and contractor and preparing commercial and contractual correspondence during the implementation of the contracts (with appropriate use of company contracts management system ‘ProCon’)
• Ensuring tracking systems are maintained for all contractual correspondence
• Performing SAP and ProCon maintenance and interrogation
• Ensuring contracts and related process documentation is stored on ProCon
• Maintaining tracking registers of Contract Values and VOs
• Upholding and ensuring compliance with QGC’s HSSE requirements and business principles, both within the organisation, and with contractors and subcontractors

People Management• The incumbent must adhere to the annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience• Substantial experience or mastery of contract management for operational, drilling or project contracting
• Significant demonstrable experience in contracts and procurement in major oil and gas projects contracting
• International contracting
• Experience in developing and executing contract strategies and plans
• Experience in negotiating Contractual and Insurance Claims
• Detailed market knowledge of a minimum of 5 key industry market areas (ie CBM, onshore construction, engineering and procurement, etc)
• Proven experience in contract management
• In-depth experience of formulating and administering different contract types including EPCM, lump sum EPIC, EPC, Unit Rate and reimbursable contracts in particular

Knowledge, Languages, Skills and Attributes
• Associate of the Royal Institute Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent
• Formal QS or legal training, advantageous
• Good communication and presentation skills

• Ability to undertake a range of contract activities from high level management / strategic to low level administrative
