GMSMe Grant Management System Manager – London

Integrity Action was founded in London in 2003 from the conviction that integrity offers the single largest opportunity for improvements in sustainable and equitable development worldwide. Integrity Action has raised over £10million for its work in the past seven years from a range of donors that include the Aga Khan Foundation, Canada International Development Agency (CIDA), Department for International Development (DFID), Ford Foundation (New York, Beijing, and Cairo), Hewlett Foundation, Netherlands Foreign Ministry, Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and Open Society Foundations. Within three years we aim to double our annual income and to secure several long-term financial commitments to put the organisation on a stable financial footing.
We have circa 35 staff. Our main officers are in London and East Jerusalem; we also have full-time field presence in Amman, Bishkek, Jakarta, Monrovia, Nairobi, Ramallah and Yerevan. Integrity Action is looking for an organised, enthusiastic GMSMe specialist to work in our small but busy London-based office. You would be working alongside the London based Chief Operating Officer and other globally based finance team.
The role will involve management of the GMSMe helpdesk as well as supporting other project based finance activities (such as supporting financial audits) as well as general financial support to all staff. Responsibilities:
The GMSMe Specialist will contribute to the work of Integrity Action by assisting with the implementation and monitoring of all GMSMe financial programme and operational activities. Based in its office in London, key tasks of this position will include: GMSMe Training and Support • Plan, prepare and deliver a GMSMe training schedule for Integrity Action staff and consultants • Provide a GMS Helpdesk function within Tiri responding to ad hoc requests for help from staff and consultants • Review all old, active and new grants within GMS for accuracy, completeness and compliance with donor regulations. • Assist with donor reporting requirements • Assist the Chief Operating Officer and programme staff with GMS budget management including the setting up of FY2013 budgets, reconciling GMS budgets to donor contracts. • Carry out any other tasks that may be requested by the Chief Operating Officer to effectively use GMSMe within Integrity Action.
USE OF GMSMe is a necessity. Qualifications: • Proven experience with GMSMe financial grants management system. • A strong understanding of International Accounting Standards (IAS) and the differences between IAS and UK GAAP for Charities. • Strong technical ability and financial accounting skills • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a related field; • Proven experience in financial management including understanding budgets, forecasting and reporting. • Ability to analyse data efficiently and concisely report findings to management and external stakeholders. • Ability to work well with people from various regions, cultures and contexts; • Fluency in English - both written and oral communication; • Attention to detail • Motivated and hard working • Good communication and interpersonal skills; • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (especially MS Excel); • Available for some travel. • Fast learner, self-driven, open to new ideas and hardworking
