Description:
Petrofac provide integrated services across the oil and gas asset life cycle in 29 countries worldwide. We are currently recruiting for an experienced ‘Metallurgist I’ to assist with a variety of oil and gas projects being undertaken in our Woking office.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Assists in the preparation of the Technical Document Register (TDR). Reviews Basis of Design, philosophies, specifications and other relevant documents. Identifies and resolves discrepancies and divergences from original proposal/contract to supervisory Metallurgist.
- Undertakes specific tasks/area of work under supervision, as defined by the Lead/ Principal/ Senior Metallurgist including preparation of Specifications for coatings, protection, insulation etc, Material Selection, Calculations, Drawings, and Datasheets.
- Ensures equipment compatibility and conformance with client specifications and requirements. (Per Contract).
- Ensures compliance with Petrofac’s ISO Quality procedures, project QA Plan and Design Integrity processes and procedures. Complying with other Petrofac’s accredited frameworks such as ISO 14001.
The ideal candidate should be typically educated to Master’s Degree level in a relevant Engineering discipline and have demonstrative experience working for Engineering/ Client organisations in the Oil and Gas industry, particularly in downstream processing. The candidate should also have strong analytical and investigative skills and a working knowledge of the relevant industry knowledge, processes and techniques relevant to the role. You should have excellent interpersonal skills, strong IT skills, numeracy skills along with strong presentation and communication skills.
