Under the direct supervision of the project manager and the AVR cluster manager and in close coordination with relevant units at the Mission the project assistant AVR reintegration is responsible for the coordination of medical returns and reintegration activities under the supervision of a manager who is accountable for the results.
1. Coordination of return of migrants with medical indication, in accordance with IOM policies; e.g. conduct assessments of the situation of returnees and their communities in close cooperation with Missions in CoO; organization of special requirements such as medical/ social escort or stretcher case transportation, in accordance with IOM procurement procedure.
2. Register relevant data concerning the progress of the work, in accordance with procedures, and report the results, developments and possible bottlenecks.
3. If relevant facilitate the reintegration process in close cooperation with the project assistants in the field as well as receiving IOM missions worldwide, prepare ToRs, information dissemination about the reintegration possibilities in the countries of return.
4. Close liaison with Missions and partners working in the field of Return migration and health and reintegration, including identification and contracting of new partners.
5. Organize orientation sessions relevant to return related information provision, assist in the development of information presentations and meetings.
6. Present IOM as a reliable and careful consultation and implementation partner and thereby contributing to the image of the IOM as an organisation that facilitates humane and well-organised repatriation.
7. Design, oversee, and monitor the delivery of reintegration/ post-arrival assistance to returnees in general from the Netherlands, including transportation, counselling, shelter, support, psychosocial assistance, training and job placement, and social and economic reintegration, in accordance with IOM policies and donor specifications and in close cooperation with the receiving IOM mission.
8. Execute project work plans as well as monitoring and evaluation plans. Analyze and work out strategies to improve, and evolve project models; map and disseminate best practices for successful reintegration.
9. Ensure timely implementation and achievement of project activities. Evaluate project effectiveness, impact, and sustainability; make and implement recommendations for improvement.
10. Prepare project reporting, in accordance with IOM procedures and donor requirements.
11. Ensure the proper administration and use of project resources, in coordination with the project manager.
12. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & experience
Degree at a higher professional educational level in the field of international relations, law, social studies and/or other relevant field of specialization.
a) at least three years of experience working with migrants or national migration health issues; b) experience in developing and implementing reintegration activities; c) experience in working with governments and civil society d) familiarity with donor procedures d) good command of information and presentation techniques e) experience with client-tracking systems. g) knowledge of MS Office h) preferably holding a driving licence B.
LANGUAGES
Required
Fluent in oral and written Dutch and English.
Advantageous
Basic knowledge of a third language that is relevant to the job.
