Base Maintenance Cost Controller

Job Purpose
The Base Maintenance Cost Controller reports to Senior Manager Base Maintenance and is responsible for ensuring timely, efficient, and accurate processing of all heavy maintenance invoices via a stable interface with Maintenance provider.
This must be done by the development of effective processes so to ensure both a timely build up of Heavy Maintenance Check invoices, whilst at the same time maintaining over view of relevant costs.
Additionally, the Base Maintenance Cost Controller will monitor and submit cost control reports and assist in maintaining and setting up the department budget.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure all invoice contents are accurate and as per signed contracts; and attach all relevant supporting data prior to submission for approval.
  • Respond, liaise and follow up with internal and external departments/organisations as required to resolve all disputed technical invoices
  • Document, track and report all invoices handled by Base Maintenance and update records as required.
  • Ensure budget targets are achieved by supporting Technical Representatives in the management of defects, scrutiny and approval of manhour and material costs before, during and after maintenance inputs.
  • Management of any Technical projects, as directed by Senior Manager Base Maintenance
  • Assist in developing new processes and solutions in order to streamline and improve Base maintenance cost control functions.
  • Prepare and submit regular invoice and cost status reports as required.
  • Support the preparation of the department’s annual Budget through data analysis and filtration
Requirements
Qualification & Education: 
  • A valid GCAA license and or EASA Part 66 /ICAO type II and /or an appropriate Engineering degree
  • Recognized Apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline.
  • Further studies in Business and/or Accounting Principles is desirable. 
Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Line/ Base Maintenance.
  • 5 years experience in a Heavy maintenance environment.
  • Experience as a Cost Controller is desirable
Training & Knowledge: 
  • Well developed communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent knowledge of engineering standards appropriate for an International airline
  • Excellent command of English language
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office applications)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Formal training in budgeting & accounting
