Project Manager - Strategic Planning and Special Projects


Job Description

  • Manage special strategic  projects which fall within the remit of broader ADEC programs, reporting to a Program Manager or directly to Division Director as required
  • Provide informal technical and professional guidance to (Senior) Analyst/s as required
  • Support other ADEC Divisions on a needs basis in strategic operations and programs; and in building strategic relationships/partnerships or acquiring/using complex information
  • Provide guidance to all sectors in the area of defining and planning projects; provide recommendations to staff projects where lacking of competencies/manpower applies
  • Play an important and leading role in change management activities across ADEC
  • Support on large ADEC programs comprising various special projects
  • Develop regular status reports as they pertain to special projects and forward to Program Performance & Performance Management Division for consolidation/review
  • Run regular project team meetings with internal resources and external consultants to ensure projects are being delivered appropriately and respecting budgets, timelines and the agreed Project management methodology
  • Account for project write offs and extensions

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Nationals: 4 years’ relevant experience
  • Expatriates: 9 years’ experience in managing important projects within the public sector
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline as a minimum
  • Master's Degree Preferred
