Job Purpose
This primary purpose of this role is to provide timely, commercially important information and analysis to key commercial staff across the business. Information is derived from a wide range of data sources to provide clarity on strengths and weaknesses in terms of flown and forecasted revenue performance.
The revenue management systems analyst must draw on IT competencies in a broad range of software packages – MS SQL, MS Office and Business Objects amongst others –
to extract relevant data from multiple tables in the RM Systems database in response to ad hoc requests and to provide regular reporting on the airline’s revenue performance. The nature of requests frequently involves combining data from numerous database tables and requires advanced IT coding.
This is a specialist role, requiring advanced IT software competencies, report-writing and presentation skills and commercial acumen (including knowledge of airline revenue management).
Responsibilities
  • Design, produce and disseminate regular and ad hoc reporting/analysis within Revenue Management and to other commercial areas to support tactical and strategic decision-making
  • Analyse the broad range of commercial data sources in order to give guidance to the airline’s commercial decision-makers in terms of performance against Etihad’s primary KPIs – communicating this analysis through the most appropriate medium (Powerpoint, Excel reports etc) and at the most appropriate level of detail
  • Ensure the accuracy and continuity of data importing processes by designing and implementing quality checking procedures
  • Ensure the accuracy of information by researching causes of data error and designing and implementing processes and IT programmes to correct base data
  • Design and implement new IT programmes (in SQL server) to link together multiple data types (e.g. flown with forecasted passenger numbers) to support the dynamic information needs of the company’s decision-makers
  • Design and implement new ‘canned reports’ using Business Objects programming interface to allow non-technical staff to interrogate MIS database
  • Coordinating with counterparts in Inventory Management to review accuracy of PROS system passenger forecasts and highlighting routes with high deviation
RequirementsQualification & Education:
  •  Bachelors degree level educated in IT/Computer Science, Business/Economics/Statistics or other numerate discipline.
Experience:  
  • 2 years or above working experience in a numerate and analytical role, ideally within the airline industry
  • 2 years or above working experience of business intelligence tools, databases and database programming.
  • 1 year of above experience of system support and development (including development and execution of user acceptance testing)
