Team administrator, Income and expenditure, Finance

Christian Aid’s work around the world is only possible because of the financial support we receive. By providing efficient and effective support to the Income and Expenditure Units and the Finance Division more widely, you will be helping to maximise our resources to lift individuals and communities around the world out of poverty.
The Income Unit (40%) ensures that all income is promptly and accurately recorded so that it can be appropriately spent. It is also responsible for claiming Gift Aid on donations received and maximising that income. You will provide essential administrative and basic financial support to that unit to enable the team to fulfil these tasks in a timely manner. You will maintain complete and accurate electronic and paper records, used by the Finance and Supporter Relations teams for income processing and reconciliation. Working alongside Finance Officers, you will check original Gift Aid documentation to ensure that the correct amounts of Gift Aid are claimed.
The Expenditure Unit (40%) ensures that the costs of the organisation is paid and recorded correctly, this includes invoices, expenses, petty cash and salaries. You will coordinate the cash handling in the team, giving out and receiving cash and arranging the ordering of more currency. You will also organise any journal requests and manage our relationship with our flight provider.
You will also ensure that basic administrative support is given to the Finance Division (20%) such as booking meetings and organising bank signatory and post collection rotas. You will maintain the flexibility necessary to assist the Finance Division in any administrative tasks that may arise day to day.
This role requires experience of record keeping and maintenance with exposure to spreadsheet and word processing packages. And ideally you will have some experience of work within a finance office and some knowledge of the Gift Aid scheme for charities. We require a good communicator who is able deal with staff requests from across the organisation. The role would require a good eye for detail and a careful steward of our resources.
