The appointment will be on UCL Grade 9. The salary range will be £48,729 - £53,233 per annum. London Allowance of £2,834 per annum will be payable in addition if based at UCL.
The role of Consortium Manager represents an exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual to take a leadership role in the development, and delivery, of a range of key research infrastructures with a group of internationally recognised research institutions across the South of England.
Working within the e-Infrastructure South Consortium, the Consortium Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the continued delivery of current state of the art e-infrastructure to our researchers, as well as working with senior stakeholders to develop, and execute, a strategic roadmap for the future against the backdrop of a dynamic government priority area.
The Consortium Manager will initially hold responsibility for two distinct strands of activity:

The Consortium’s Manager’s duties will include the development of a strategic road-map and sustainability plan for the centre, day-to-day management of the Centre (including financial management, matrix managing project staff, monitoring and reporting), briefing senior stakeholders and supporting the integration of future partners into the Centre for Innovation. Duties will also extend to the development and coordination of funding proposals to internal and external funders for continuation funding
  • e-Infrastructure South Consortium (e-IS) Development – The consortium’s vision is to develop a series of shared e-infrastructure activities of which the CfI is the first major example. Working with a range of stakeholders (Researcher to Pro-Vice Chancellor level) across the partner institutions, the Consortium Manager will identify, prioritise, evaluate and prepare strategic development cases for consideration by the eIS Executive Board. Following selection, the Consortium Manager’s duty will be to develop full business cases for further scrutiny and authority to proceed. Throughout, the Consortium Manager will be expected to take a firm hands-on role, actively engaging in project(s) underway whilst maintaining effective communication with project sponsors and wider stakeholder community.
There is the flexibility for the successful candidate to be based at any of the e-Infrastructure South Universities (Bristol, Oxford, Southampton or UCL). Whilst the successful candidate may choose any one of these institutions to be based from, there is clear expectation on the successful candidate to travel extensively between the eIS Universities and to other locations as required.
