Wat houdt deze functie in?
Het betreft een werkstage van minimaal 5 maanden waarbij je kennis kunt opdoen met het
coordineren en uitvoeren van online marketing en communicatie projecten, zoals de website en
de online nieuwsbrief. Daarnaast ben je betrokken bij de realisatie en creatie van de nieuwe
productintroducties voor op de Benelux corporate website. Je plaatst en redigeert marketing kopij
en visuele content ter verbetering en uitbreiding van onze merkperceptie en voorziening in de
informatiebehoefte van onze consument.

Taken die hieruit voortvloeien zijn:
• Plannen en coordineren van productintroducties op de website van lge.nl en lge.be

• Coordineren en opzetten van online nieuwsbrief

• Redigeren van online content en wervende teksten

• Creatieve ideeen aandragen en uitvoeren voor de website

• Plaatsen productinformatie op de website mbv een CMS

World Press Photo is looking for a new colleague to join the communication team from, preferably, February 2013.

Online content editor with strong writing and project management skills, 1.0 fte (40 hours a week)
The content editor will work together with the head of communication and the communication manager in planning and creating content for publication online. The tasks consist of a combination of writing and adapting copy, online content management and the production of multimedia for online. In addition, he or she will be responsible for an online newsletter and participate in writing and adapting texts for press releases, invitations etc.

The tasks include:
•  Writing and (sub-)editing copy to a high standard for publication, for the online platform and social media, according to the World Press Photo house style and tone of voice;
•  Producing and editing content, including multimedia productions, coordinating recordings of interviews and lectures, managing internal and external contributors (writers, producers, photographers, video editors);
•  Project management: planning, managing the editorial calendar, budgeting, etc.;
•  Reviewing and standardizing copy created by freelance writers (non-editors), ensuring that editorial and style guidelines are correctly applied;
•  Writing and editing copy for press releases, news alerts, invitations etc.;
•  Coordinating production and distribution of monthly online newsletter.

Desired Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate is a team player showing initiative and flexibility within a small and enthusiastic team of communication specialists. We are looking for someone with:
•  Minimum 2 years working experience in writing and/or copy editing for online publication, with working knowledge of SEO;
•  English as first language with impeccable grammar and spelling;
•  Experience in content creation/management under deadlines;
•  Experience in working with content management systems (Drupal is a plus) and understanding of online content structures;
•  Thorough understanding of journalistic working principles;
•  Proven project management skills; •  Basic Dutch skills (World Press Photo office is a Dutch-speaking workplace);
•  Software skills: experienced Microsoft Office, basic Adobe Photoshop and Final Cut Pro;
•  Interest in photography/photojournalism and an understanding of visual communication.

Regional Software Sales Manager - Netherlands


We are looking to add a highly motivated Regional Enterprise Software Sales Manager to lead our sales team in the Netherlands. The Enterprise Sales Manager (ESM) will be responsible for identifying and developing new opportunities for selling application and virtualization performance management solutions and closing new business.   • Achieve and exceed quarterly sales goals through full sales cycle management from prospect creation, value proposition, negotiation and deal closure.

Director of North-North Cooperation , The Hague, Netherlands


Director of North-North Cooperation
The European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) is a not-for-profit organisation with a European office in The Hague, The Netherlands and an African office in Cape Town, South Africa. EDCTP is a partnership between European and African countries and the European Union. Its main goal is to accelerate the development of new clinical interventions including drugs, vaccines, microbicides and diagnostics against poverty-related diseases and neglected infections in Africa (HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases). EDCTP is preparing its second programme phase (EDCTP2), which is expected to start in 2014. EDCTP2 will be a significant extension on scope and scale compared to the EDCTP1 programme; the funding level of EDCTP2, when approved, is expected to be around €2 billion, which will be a significant increase on EDCTP1 funding of €500 million (for more information on the envisaged EDCTP2 programme please consulthttp://www.edctp.org/Towards_EDCTP2.799.0.html).
In anticipation of EDCTP2 with one of its objectives being the building of stronger partnerships and cooperation with European, African and other public and private funders, EDCTP plans to fill the position of Director of North-North Cooperation (DNNC). The incumbent will join two other directors in the Senior Management Team to give support to the Executive Director. The DNNC will be based at the EDCTP office in The Hague and will report to the Executive Director. He or she will have overall responsibility for coordination of European participating states’ joint activities and investments in the relevant disease areas and liaising with the European Union, implementation and monitoring of EDCTP, and building on partnership initiatives with pharmaceutical industry, product development partnerships (PDPs), like-minded funding agencies and foundations, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
Duties and responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities will include:
• Acting as line manager of the North-North Networking Manager and the Operations (Calls and Grants) Manager overseeing a growing team of currently 10 members of staff
• Contributing to the growth and organisational development of the EDCTP Secretariat in preparation for an effective and efficient implementation of EDCTP2
• Developing and adapting the EDCTP funding operations, processes and partnership activities to meet the goals of EDCTP2
• Contributing to the development and implementation of the EDCTP2 funding strategy and annual work plans
• Identifying and fostering collaboration between European participating states’ research funding agencies and institutions to achieve or exceed the cofunding targets set out in the EU decision on EDCTP2
• Putting in place strategies that promote further integration of participating EDCTP European  states’ national and international programmes of research, particularly in clinical research on poverty-related and neglected infectious diseases in developing countries focusing on sub-Saharan Africa
• Working with EDCTP European partner states to put in place systems and processes that ensure timely and accurate preparation of annual and multi-annual work plans
• Liaising with the focal points of Participating European states to ensure they fulfil their cash and in-kind cofunding commitments to EDCTP
• Building strong and effective partnerships with other public and private sector funding bodies including industry, PDPs, like-minded funding agencies and foundations, and NGOs
• Preparing and presenting advocacy plans and reports to the General Assembly and the Steering Committee
• Working closely with the High Representative and Communications team to develop and implement an integrated strategy for promoting EDCTP and raising funding from European participating states, industry, NGOs, PDPs and like-minded organisations
• Raising the profile of EDCTP as an important funder of clinical trials research amongst the international funding/donor community and relevant stakeholders
• Representing EDCTP either individually or as part of a senior management delegation at major events and meetings
• Working closely with the Communications team to develop a communications toolbox and strategy to facilitate advocacy and promotional initiatives and events
• Assisting in organising EDCTP conferences, especially in Europe
• Planning of events, conferences and forums which are relevant for EDCTP to attend and/or co-sponsor
• Liaising with the European Commission
• Ensuring timely and accurate preparation of reports and information packages on North-North cooperation for submission to the European Commission and for sharing with EDCTP constituencies as appropriate
• Any other tasks, duties or specific assignments which may arise as directed by the Executive Director.

Person specification:• MD or PhD in Life Sciences
• Background in public health systems with a broad understanding of clinical trials in infectious diseases
• More than 15 years of experience in research or international cooperation in an internationally recognised research funding institution
• Experience of working with or in the pharmaceutical industry
• Excellent publication record, particularly in infectious diseases
• Experience in building research partnerships and collaborations, particularly with international research funding agencies or Product Development Partnerships (PDPs)
• Risk management experience, particularly in a health research setting, will be an advantage
• Experience in heading an operational management or international cooperation department of an internationally recognised research funding agency will be an advantage
• Excellent written and spoken English skills. Knowledge of French, Portuguese or any other European language will be an advantage
• Excellent presentation skills and experience speaking to relevant technical audiences; confident presenter and effective communicator
• Strong sense of diplomacy and an ability to take account of both personal and political sensitivities in an international environment
• Good IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Fondsenwerver voor wonderlijk filmproject in Belize gezocht


Wij zoeken per direct een zelfstandige fondsenwerver met ruime ervaring op het gebied van sociale en/of creatieve projecten buiten Europa voor het filmproject “The Speed of Darkness” in Belize. Uitstekende schrijfvaardigheid is een vereiste en specifieke kennis van fondsenwerving voor Centraal Amerika en/of voor filmprojecten is een pre.
“The Speed of Darkness” is een bijzonder filmproject in Belize in samenwerking met het ‘Belize Central Prison’ en ‘Make Belize Films’. Een groot deel van de bevolking lijdt onder de gevolgen van corruptie, geweld, drugsmisbruik en criminaliteit in Belize. De inhoud van de film is gebaseerd op verhalen van gevangenen, slachtoffers en hun families en laat o.a. hun dagelijkse leven zien. Naast het realisme is er ook ruimte voor droombeelden. In de loop van het verhaal vormt zich een groep gevangenen die door middel van kunst (rap, breakdance, poëzie, beeldend enz.) en door onconventionele, wonderlijke projecten hun eigen leven en dat van hun medemensen op een verrassende manier weten te transformeren.
Wonder lanceert sinds 2005 creatieve, spraakmakende initiatieven voor een mooiere wereld. Meestal uit eigen beweging, maar ook vaak in opdracht van klanten als de Nederlandse Hartstichting, Ben & Jerry’s, Stichting DOEN of Oxfam Novib. Voorbeelden van projecten zijn het bezoek van Sinterklaas aan tien moskeeën om stiekem de schoenen met pakjes te vullen of het Blijbedrijf, dat zomaar mensen blij maakt met bijvoorbeeld een uitzwaaiservice op het perron.

Key Responsibilities

Editorial Assistant Opportunities


Stability: International Journal of Security & Development(www.stabilityjournal.org) presents cutting-edge research with minimal delay and in a manner accessible to policymakers and practitioners. The journal features research into those interventions, including stabilisation, development assistance, governance, crime reduction and humanitarian aid, which aim to end conflicts, prevent conflict recurrence and foster peace. Stability welcomes articles from a range of disciplines, including political science, development studies, international relations, sociology, criminology, anthropology, psychology and the law, among others.
The Role of Editorial Assistants
Editorial Assistants support the journal’s operations by helping disseminate our call for papers, facilitating rapid peer-review processes, copy-editing accepted articles, communicating with particular contributors and disseminating content among researchers, policymakers and practitioners. They are not paid or compensated, though they do gain excellent experiencing related to publish and access to the most recent research on issues such as conflict, crime, violence and development or humanitarian assistance delivery in fragile settings -- in addition to professional references as they continue on their career paths.
Editorial Assistants should be willing to commit 10 hours per week to Stability. They will be based from their home locations and will primarily receive training and instructions via e-mail and Skype.
**Qualifications*
The typical Editorial Assistant will be a Master’s or doctoral student or an early-career practitioner who has an interest in Stability’s key themes and who supports its open-access approach to publishing. They should also be fluent in English and have very strong writing and editing skills. Fluency in English is crucial given that this role involves a significant amount of editing academic writing.

Objective of the position

This includes spotting funding opportunities, targeted donor relation building and engaging in joint fundraising initiatives with other Oxfam affiliates in DRC.

Main tasks

  • To identify opportunities for fundraising with institutional donors and private foundations. Acquisition with (potential) donors for specific themes;
  • To conduct donor mapping and develop further a country funding strategy in line with the identified Oxfam wide country strategy for DRC;
  • To work together with other relevant Oxfam staff on the formulation of and timely update of the country funding strategy;
  • To monitor the performance of the Bukavu field office on external funding in consultation with the External Funding Unit in The Hague;
  • To inform and advise the country team on new acquisition opportunities (donors, budget lines, Calls for Proposals), on the basis of information obtained from the network of donors and other relevant contacts and to advise on how to follow-up on these opportunities;
  • To maintain contacts with embassies and other donor institutions and make continuous investments to expand the network;
  • To analyse concept notes and proposals on consistency, completeness, presentation, relevance to the donor and on the correct compliance with the donor’s demands. Assist in drafting and editing project/programme proposals in coordination with the country team;
  • To advise and provide guidance, including (on-the-job) training to the DRC team on the process of developing high quality project proposals and report writing.

You have

  • An university degree in international relations, development studies, anthropology, geography, or related field and proven experience at this level;
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the field of development cooperation preferably with an NGO;
  • Experience with identifying fundraising opportunities preferably for NGO’s and a good track-record of successfully acquired funding and donor-compliant implementation of programs;
  • Experience with preparing project proposals for institutional donor agencies, including the European Commission, ECHO and private foundations as well as experience with other main donors’ rules and regulations;
  • Extensive knowledge of DRC;
  • Experience and knowledge of project cycle management, including monitoring, technical and financial reporting;
  • Good communication and coaching skills;
  • Good knowledge of the INGO sector; a natural networker with substantial experience of building relationships with (potential) donors; bringing a network of donor agencies is an asset;
  • Relevant thematic specialization (is an asset);
  • The willingness to travel regularly;
  • Skills in French and English (proficiency orally and in writing).

We offer
A competitive, fair and comprehensive pay and benefits package that is justifiable to our donors. We will offer a gross salary in the range of € 2,896,- to € 4,456,- on the basis of a fulltime position. This is excl. 8% holiday fee, additional expat allowances will be offered. This position is either a family posting (when based in Kinshasa) or accompanied posting (no children, when based in Goma or Bukavu).

Youth Health Education Advisor : Freetown, Sierra Leone

A strategic placement with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, to help putting in place an effective plan to develop a health education component of the existing youth programmes developed together by the Ministry of Youth Education and Sport, the National Youth Commission, YMCA, with the support of VSO volunteers and other agencies.

What does the role involve?

You will be working closely with the ministry in developing strategies for the youth programme. This programme is aimed at addressing the needs and challenges of youth in society and empowering them to be more productive members of the society. Specifically, the role of the volunteer involves the following:

  • Developing strategies to identify the needs of youth and interventions to respond to these needs
  • Drawing up policies for youth empowerment programme
  • Coordinating with other institutions involved in youth issue, to come up with a collective plan for youth development
  • Coaching and mentoring youth health educators

Skills, qualifications and experience required

You’ll need to be a qualified social worker or counsellor with at least three years experience in community work. You’ll need to have good skills in planning, management, and coordination. It is essential to have good communication and effective inter-personal skills, cultural sensitivity, as well as ability to both work independently with minimum supervision and efficiently with other people.

Freetown is the capital city of Sierra Leone where VSO Tanzania Programme Office is located and there are three VSO volunteers currently working in various ministries in Freetown, including one in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation. As the capital, Freetown hosts all the major centres for business, trade, and industry. It is situated in a hilly terrain and several road constructions and restorations are still taking place.

We’ll ask you to commit 12 months to make a sustainable contribution to development goals and in return we’ll provide you with invaluable training before your placement, a local living allowance, return flights, accommodation and insurance.
