Save the Children IT User Support Manager

The role

The Global IT User Support Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and development of IT User Support services within Save the Children International ( SCI).

The SCI IT team is organised into a series of global HQ role, regional leadership roles and a network of approximately 125 country-based IT staff across Africa, Middle East/Eurasia, Asia and Latin / Central America. This organisation supports approximately 12,000 IT users around the world.

Local country staff provides ‘first point of user support’, with regional and global leaders providing levels of escalation as required. In Global HQ, where there are approximately 150 senior IT users, first point of IT support is provided by a third party supplier. Global and regional IT leaders are responsible for setting strategy, defining high level action plans and managing the IT relationships with senior stakeholders and managing the larger third party IT suppliers, whilst supporting country office staff throughout implementation.

Using industry standard IT service management methodologies, the Global IT User Support Manager will work within the Global IT Operations team to ensure all IT users within SCI receive high quality and cost-efficient IT service support. This will include driving an IT User Support Strategy, covering all the key ‘User productivity tools’, such as user devices, smartphones, tablets, email, videoconferencing and social media tools.

Qualifications and experience

Essential
• Excellent knowledge of current IT Service Management methodologies, desktop applications, operating systems, internet / intranet and standards. Preferably qualified to a recognised industry standard.
• At least two years relevant experience incorporating the majority of the functions detailed in this job description.
• Proven ability to manage a team of user support personnel providing 1st Line service desk and 2nd Line desk side support to users.
• Experience of communicating technical issues to a multi-cultural, multi-functional audience.
• Ability to evaluate, recommend and implement timely, essential improvements to existing User Support structures
• Exceptional planning and organisational skills with ability to clearly communicate technical issues to a wide audience.
• Good knowledge / experience in ITIL processes. Preferably ITIL version 3 qualified.
• Excellent written and spoken English. Other languages could be a distinct advantage.
• The successful candidate will be an experienced IT User Support professional with in depth experience of installing, maintaining and supporting IT user tools
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as demonstrated technical support skills will be vital to ensure the demands of the business are met.

Due to the nature of this position and the varied level of customers served by the team an exceptional communicator in terms of tact, diplomacy, verbal and written skills will be required to fulfil this role. Characteristics will include:

FIELD SUPPLY ADVISOR (BACK OFFICE) - SUPPLY UNIT , Switzerland


Context and Mission
The Operational Centre Geneva (OCG), with an annual average growth of more than 10 % for the last and a supply budget of 50 MCH in 2012 (40 % of the operational budget), foresees continuing growth in the coming five years. To scale up to meet these operational, human resource and financial challenges, the OCG has set up a Supply Unit, with a view to optimise the management flows (goods, information and financial) and supply processes (internal and external). The final aim is to ensure a sustainable and efficient MSF Supply Chain to meet the OCG strategy.
The post holder will be responsible for the second line support to the key field and HQ supply actors (Front Office, Flying Supply and Log Cell Referents). S/he will guarantee the definition and the continuous improvement of the policies, processes, lead times, quality standards and the performance objectives under the direction of the Head of the Supply Unit. S/he will be responsible for support and training to meet the development needs of the field supply chain teams. S/he will be the privileged technical interlocutor of the Field Supply Referent and work in association with the operations, logistics, medical, finance, human resources and the information and technology departments. Scope of Responsibilities and activities
 Expertise  Redefinition, formalization and standardization of the supply chain policies  Analyse and simplify current internal macro and micro processes; standard operating procedures with a view to be adapted to field operations.  Set up standard reporting formats for project, mission, field visit and hq purposes and improve existing monthly and quarterly reports  Propose a new OCG supply guideline and standardize the mission supply ones including supply country ID card.  Rationalize existing tools and related user manuals
 Technical Support  Support the Flying Supply Referents and/or Managers within the implementation of the OCG supply references  Strategy set-up and evaluation  Guideline and report compilation and analysis  Tools data base analysis and debugging  Design the content of a National and International Supply HR strategy  Briefing/debriefing (hq and field)  Supply modules of various MSF trainings  Ad-hoc trainings (supply tools week, supply week, supply chain management, stock management, customs, etc…)  Management package (ToT, TMT 1 & 2, etc…)
 HQ Procurement Policy  Lead and implement the HQPP project dedicated to the optimisation and the standardisation of the procurement processes.  Centralize purchase processes (Field & HQ) with a view to cost rationalisation  Manage the HQ procurement referent and guarantee a permanent back-up system
 Act as the OCG procurement focal point towards its European Supply Centre (MSF Logistique).

Sales Engineer, ERICO Panel Connections ERICO - Singapore


GEOGRAPHIC COVERAGE: Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia
REPORTS TO: Regional Sales Manager, EPC/East Asia and China


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Market and sell all ERICO Panel Connections (EPC) range of products and services to contractor base via distribution network.
  • Influence end-user specifications to provide approval for EPC products, emphasising technical advantages over competitor products.
  • Create demand for EPC products through pro-active promotion with end-users, design institutes/consulting companies and other specifying engineers.
  • Identify and manage local distributors.
  • Develop sales strategies and tactical plans to achieve individual sales targets.
  • Manage key direct accounts.
  • Manage and maintain existing customer base.
  • Identify and manage new business and product development.
  • Carry out market analysis to identify new areas of business.
  • Provide first line product applications support including liaison with  EPC  product management and applications engineering staff.
  • Partner with the EPC management team.
  • Supply technical information and advice regarding the company’s products.

Desired Skills & Experience

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, majors in Electrical , Automation or equivalent.  Electrical Engineer background is preferred
  • Two to Five years of sales experience in a relevant industry, including Panel builder, automation, alternative energy, transportation etc.  Low voltage component or accessories sales experience is preferred.
  • Possess, or be able to develop, a thorough knowledge of the applications of EPC products.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate confidently with both technically trained and non-technical customers.
  • Professional presentation skills suited to presenting EPC products and solution at various organizational levels.
  • Ability to present to customers in an effective manner the product differentiation offered by ERICO.

Sr Sales Representative, Cloud Computing Storage Seagate Technology - Ang Mo Kio


Sell into the Cloud Providers and eco-system of System Builders, Identifying and selling to critical participants in the delivery of cloud services with the key regional partners.
Person will need to define the accounts and sell hard drives and solutions to customers based on goals and quota set by the Cloud team Manager. In addition, applicant should be able to set up executive level engagements at the top accounts and develop a deep understanding of their business.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 5-10 years of sales experience in device, system level sales, solution sales, integration and/or telco sectors.
  • Experience in developing and executing sales strategies in a variety of OEM & ODM environments.
  • Ability to work in a changing, fluid sales environment with potentially new business models inside an organization as well as the ability to influence decision makers at the highest levels within the customer set.
  • Experience and knowledge of consultative selling and solution selling while developing “trusted advisor” type of relationships within the customer set.

World Press Photo is looking for a new colleague to join the communication team from, preferably, February 2013.

Online content editor with strong writing and project management skills, 1.0 fte (40 hours a week)
The content editor will work together with the head of communication and the communication manager in planning and creating content for publication online. The tasks consist of a combination of writing and adapting copy, online content management and the production of multimedia for online. In addition, he or she will be responsible for an online newsletter and participate in writing and adapting texts for press releases, invitations etc.

The tasks include:
•  Writing and (sub-)editing copy to a high standard for publication, for the online platform and social media, according to the World Press Photo house style and tone of voice;
•  Producing and editing content, including multimedia productions, coordinating recordings of interviews and lectures, managing internal and external contributors (writers, producers, photographers, video editors);
•  Project management: planning, managing the editorial calendar, budgeting, etc.;
•  Reviewing and standardizing copy created by freelance writers (non-editors), ensuring that editorial and style guidelines are correctly applied;
•  Writing and editing copy for press releases, news alerts, invitations etc.;
•  Coordinating production and distribution of monthly online newsletter.

Desired Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate is a team player showing initiative and flexibility within a small and enthusiastic team of communication specialists. We are looking for someone with:
•  Minimum 2 years working experience in writing and/or copy editing for online publication, with working knowledge of SEO;
