About the Job
We are looking for someone who will be able to fulfil the following requirements
Conflict Checks
- This role represents the liaison between personnel of Deloitte Southern Africa and its Subsidiaries and personnel of foreign member firms of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited ("DTTL") who are considering the acceptance of an engagement that may be in conflict with services already provided for a particular client or its affiliates (e.g., professional, legal, or business conflicts; regulatory restrictions on scope of services
- Performing research, analyzing data/ information/ group structures, recording information, responding to conflict check initiators and communicating with various personnel.
Business Relationships
- Business Relationships (performing research, analyzing data/ information/ group structures, recording information, responding to business relationship requests and communicating with various personnel)
Other responsibilities may include:
- Internal Independence Audits on different areas to ensure our policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Involvement on Corporate Family Tree (Company Structures) by capturing information on Firm Contribution Tool (FCT).
- Assistance on administration of Global Independence Monitoring System (GIMS) for financial interests.
- Assistance on administration of the client engagement acceptance testing process.
- Assistance on administration of Annual Independence Declaration process.
- General ad-hoc duties relating to risk and independence issues.
About You
You would need to have the following qualifications
- 3 year Degree or Diploma
You would need to have the following Experience and Technical competencies
- Basic understanding of risk and independence aspects;
- Some knowledge of the regulatory bodies (IFAC/SEC/PCAOB etc.)
- Computer literacy- Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Word.
You would need to have the following Behavioural competencies
- A self-starter and willingness to work without much supervision
- Critical and Logical thinker - Analytical approach in evaluating different business scenarios/ outcomes and resolve issues
- Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and business communication skills. Willingness to interface with senior management and staff locally and globally.
- Good sense of urgency/ prioritization and know when to seek guidance
- Reliable and Punctual
- Team Player, able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Accountability - Take ownership
- Good learner and able to apply the concepts taught in a consistent manner
