Associate Professor in clinical child psychology
Job description
The Department of Psychology wishes to recruit an Associate Professor in clinical child psychology, connected to The Clinic for Child- and Family Psychotherapy. One central obligation for the successful candidate is to participate in research, teach and supervise the therapeutic work of student therapists working with children and their families. The Clinic for Child- and Family Psychotherapy is one of the Department’s internal clinics, comprising 4 permanent scientific staff with clinical competence. The clinic is part of a larger clinical group including a total of 11 permanent staff, allowing for participation in common research projects. 
Qualification requirements
  • To be considered for this position the applicant must have a doctoral degree or equivalent qualification in clinical child psychology
  • The applicant must be a specialist in clinical child psychology (according to Norwegian standards) or must have equivalent qualifications
  • The successful candidate is obliged to participate in the Department´s activities in research, dissemination, administration and education at all levels, including supervision of doctoral level
  • Teaching language is Norwegian. Good oral and written presentation skills in Norwegian are required. It is required that applicants who do not speak Norwegian, Swedish or Danish will within 1 years master Norwegian sufficiently to be able to communicate with patients and to supervise therapeutic dialogues in Norwegian

  • Plan for research project(s). Scientific research over the past five years will normally be given particular emphasis

Applicants, who are not able to document pedagogical qualifications, must acquire skills over a two year period.

After the first stage of the review process an expert committee will invite the most appropriate candidates to submit documentation with certificates, diplomas and relevant scientific works in the past five years. In addition, the committee will invite candidates to submit a brief statement of their own research and of future research plans (max 1 page)
Applicants will normally go through an interview process, and trial lectures may also be relevant for the final ranking of the applicants.
