The Systems Development function within the BBC’s Technology, Distribution and Archive division is responsible for developing and delivering the solutions which support the BBC’s goals of providing cutting edge industry leading solutions which transform the way people work.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Automation Development Tester and a Junior Automation Development Tester to the team working on the BBC production reporting and archive system (Digital Archive).
 
These roles can be based in either London or Salford.

Role

The Senior Automation Development Tester will provide management of test team deliverables as part of an iterative approach and mentor more junior testers and be a technical authority on testing. The Junior Automation Development Tester will contribute to test team deliverables as part of an iterative approach.

Both roles will provide testing expertise as part of a product development team delivering technology solution within the Digital Archive. You'll support and facilitate an agile and iterative approach to testing within a SCRUM development environment and represent testing best practice and be pragmatic in their use of agile techniques. You'll work with developers in a Test Driven Development approach and promote the use of automated testing tools where appropriate.

Requirements

Your level of experience will differentiate you between the roles we’re recruiting. For the Principal Developer we’re looking for candidates with significant experience and for the Developer we’re looking for candidates with good experience.
 
This experience will include being a test professional with experience of working on large scale agile projects.  For the senior role you'll also have experience of working in an environment which is running multiple concurrent Scrums and substantial testing experience either manual or automated.
