ConvaTec’s manufacturing site in Malaysia is one of three of our Continence & Critical Care (CCC) plants with the other’s located in Slovakia and Belarus. We are looking to appoint a Plant Director, Malaysia reporting to the Regional Operations Director who is responsible for all three sites.
Much of the manufacturing that takes place is a manual operation, especially for the production of our latex catheters with blow moulding and extrusion being two of the main processes. In total there are 670 people on the site with the Plant Director managing Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, IT, HR, QA, R&D and Health & Safety.
Specific Duties:
- To be responsible for the development and operation of the Malaysian site, including a profit line responsibility for the legal entity.
- The objective is to ensure optimum utilization of resources in the region, and create the necessary working relations with Supply Chain Director and within the region itself according to established targets and policies.
- To ensure optimal utilization of resources and create the necessary working relations with other ConvaTec entities.
- To establish contact to local and regional authorities on all levels and to promote ConvaTec as a serious and reliable company.
General
- The Plant Manager has the authorization to execute the management tasks in ConvaTec. on behalf of ConvaTec within the limits outlined in corporate policies and local procedures and regulations.
- The Plant Manager is in charge of the day to day management and operation of ConvaTec.
- The Plant Manager is in charge of contact to local and regional authorities on all levels.
Quality:
- To ensure availability of the resources, including human and information system resources needed for maintaining of effectiveness of the quality management system and meeting regulatory and customer requirements.
Desired Skills & Experience
We are looking for a seasoned Plant Director who is experienced in working within large multinational companies. As the medical device industry is regulated by the FDA some knowledge of ISO13485 or other similar highly regulated industries would be beneficial.
