Business Environment
Amadeus is entering in the Airport IT domain that represents a significant potential for diversification and company growth.
Airports' IT cover multiple applications to manage flights, mix & mobile resources, public/private/mobile displays of information, and multiple other software solutions to optimize their critical activity.
You will discover the hidden face of an airport, the huge complexity to handle ground operations when thousands of persons are synchronized through complex processes, the challenges for the IT, and the key improvements we will design, in close partnership with two major European airports.
The target of the new Amadeus Global Customer Services (GCS) Airport IT team is to design and develop innovative customer service solutions, deliver those solutions to Airport IT launch customer and handover the delivery to the Amadeus line organization, with a special objective on creating industrializable self-service and multi-channel solutions in support and learning.
Overall Position Objective
The successful candidate is a skilled software architect / engineer who sees the importance in developing user-friendly, cost effective customer support service interface solutions, which are easy to use and relevant to the needs of the customer. The Customer Service Software Architect / Engineer will be a member of the dynamic and motivated Global Customer Service Project team, and work closely with Product Development and launch customers.
Main Position Activities
- Define user requirements for development of new or improvement of existing software solutions.
- Perform a feasibility study combining existing Amadeus enterprise solutions with new developments
- Design and propose viable technical solutions to Global Customer Support, Product Management and/or users for validation.
- Model, design and implement databases as necessary.
- Study and identify a search engine solution.
- Define the respective parameters, indexes and the search engine response view.
- Define and develop system interface and data retrieval.
- Develop and ensure integration of the selected search engine solution.
- Build URLs that embed data objects, such as security information and other data items
- Conduct unit, package and performance tests of the software / interface and ensure a level of quality in line with the Amadeus guidelines.
- Participate in the validation / acceptance phase of the product cycle ensuring the fine-tuning necessary to finalise the product.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Computer Science degree and/or relevant working experience
- At least 4 years working experience in the Software Engineering discipline
Functional Skills
- Excellent understanding and proven ability to implement object-oriented solutions with C++ and/or Java/J2EE programming languages, using standard IDE environments
- Ability to program and troubleshoot in more than one scripting language (PHP, Perl, Python, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of one or more Operating Systems (Linux, HP-Unix, Windows, etc.)
- Open back end and usability requirements experience
- Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle
- Working with standard web and application server products, such as Apache, JBOSS, Glassfish, WebLogic would be a plus
- Good presentation skills with the ability to convey complex ideas to peers and management
