The Department of Life Sciences is investing in biomedical sciences, and we are seeking to appoint a high calibre and dynamic academic who will make an outstanding contribution to the leadership of an excellent academic team. The department offers a highly successful and well-subscribed undergraduate programme in biomedical science which is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). This post together with a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer post currently advertised builds on other appointments that we have recently made to the team.
Applications are invited for a full-time, without-term Readership/Professorial position. We are seeking applications from highly committed and enthusiastic individuals who will continue to be leaders in their area of specialism, and who can provide strategic and academic leadership to the team. We are particularly looking for applicants with research and teaching interests which are complementary to those of current staff in the Biomedical Sciences team and Health Sciences Research Centre (HSRC). An understanding of current developments of healthcare science careers in the NHS will be essential. Roehampton has a growing reputation for its work in Biomedical Sciences, with significant recent increases in student numbers at undergraduate level, substantial numbers of masters’ students, and a thriving research culture supported by excellent facilities. This post forms part of our strategy of capacity building to enhance the clinical impact of our research work, and to improve the learning experience and employability of our students.
