Consulting - Senior Reservoir Geologist / Sedimentologist

Description:
The Senior Reservoir Geologist works as part of a multidisciplinary team that may include geologists, geophysicists, and petrophysicists. Projects vary but can cover single-well interpretation, exploratory play evaluation, integrated reservoir studies, and field development planning. Although geologic skills are the most necessary aspect of this position, knowledge of various software and completion and logging tools is important. Typical responsibilities involve log correlation, geologic model conceptualization, and computer model construction. The analysis may be enhanced by surface outcrop studies, core analysis, and regional depositional studies. This position requires worldwide mobility with no restrictions.
Successful Senior Reservoir Geologists have strong teamwork, presentation, and people skills. They enjoy working face to face with clients and have the adaptability required to perform in a consulting services environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide geological interpretation inputs to the geomodeler.
  • Interpret all geologic data for geologic models.
  • Design and prepare geologic reservoir studies for construction and improvement of geologic 3D static models.
  • Prepare geologic requirements for SCAL data and petrophysical data.
  • Keep abreast of reservoir geologic technology developments and promote their introduction where relevant.
  • Planning, QC, and follow-up of various subsurface projects related to geology and geochemistry.
  • Provide technical support to the team.
  • Mentor the technical community, exploration geoscientists, and technicians assigned to a common project.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in geology.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in sedimentology, with at least 10 years in production and development geology.
  • Strong background in geomodeling, with experience in fractured reservoirs and carbonate sedimentology, preferably in the Middle East.
  • Advanced knowledge of carbonate sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, and fractured reservoir development.
  • Ability to construct 3D facies and geologic models.
  • Advanced knowledge of and work experience with modeling software.
  • Hands-on experience with Petrel software.
