Located 95 kilometres north-west of Newman, Yandicoogina offers a range of fly-in and fly-out rosters. As Australia's largest-producing iron ore mine, it generates more than 50 million tonnes of Yandi (HIY) fines each year.
Reporting to the Health, Safety and Training Superintendent, you will be responsible for conducting occupational health monitoring in compliance with the monitoring schedule. You will recognise, evaluate and control health hazards in line with the Yandicoogina Occupational Hygiene program.
As an Occupational Hygiene Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing occupational hygiene investigations, preparing reports and recommendations and implementing corrective actions
- Undertaking the statutory position and discharge of Ventilation Officer and Noise Officer
- Developing and delivering guidance information regarding occupational health issues
- Training employees by presenting data in a meaningful way
- Ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
To be considered for this role, you will be a trained Ventilation Technician and Noise Officer.Your proactive approach along with good communication and time management skills will also be essential for this role. Your working experience or qualification in principles of Occupational Hygiene, Chemical Management, Taproot incident investigation or a certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessing will be advantageous.
