My client a leading EPC contractor have a fantastic opportunity for a Chief turbine Engineer specialist to perform independent outage readiness assessments on coal-fired power plants with sizes ranging from 150 to 700 MW and peaking power stations (hydro power plants, diesel power plants, open cycle and closed cycle power plants)
The duties of the Chief Turbine Engineer will have to capacity to perform Independent reviews and assessments on our Client’s various power plants with regards to their readiness to perform planned outages. These independent reviews will follow the companies ORI process and will cover such issues as, but not limited to; Client User Requirements Specification for the outage, Outage project and plant maintenance scope of works documents, pre-outage work schedules, outage schedule review meetings with the Client’s turbine contractors for their proposed scope of work and schedule for the power plant’s main turbine, ORI review meetings at Client’s power station during outages, procurement plans, material delivery plans, pre- and post-outage testing plans, Master Task Lists, Quality Inspection Plans, Engineering outage plans, and other outage-related work activities.
- Write reports and provide recommendations for improving planned power plant outages based on outage assessment reviews.
Desired Skills & Experience
Relevant Bachelors Degree
- Minimum 15 years experience in Coal-fired Power Plants, or Combined Cycle Power Plants, or Cogeneration Plants
- Minimum 10 years experience in managing steam turbine maintenance and overhauls during outages
Knowledge of power plant operation, maintenance and outages
- Must have proven project management skills
- Working knowledge of industry standards/codes
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Fully computer literate
- Self-motivated, results-driven team player. Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them.
- Very good communicator
