Chief Process Engineer, Glasgow.

   We are currently looking for a Chief Process Engineer to join our national Mechanical, Electrical and Process Engineering Stream within Water Operations Business. The role can based in Bristol, Warrington or Glasgow.

This is a chance for the successful applicant to be the lead Technical Authority within the Process Engineering Discipline in MEP as well as having the chance to be part of a vibrant business working for a broad range of clients.

Requirements Essential Criteria Degree educated and chartered with a relevant body such as the IChemE – candidates without this will not be considered Computer literate and able to work effectively work with the basic Microsoft suite of programmes as a minimum Proven understanding of the design process and ability to demonstrate working knowledge of brief/scope documents, design concepts as well as some experience technically i.e.

calculations Good commercial awareness Proven ability and experience in providing a customer focussed service and ensuring clients are satisfied Significant experience in all aspects of water treatment including: pH correction, coagulation and flocculation, filtration, flotation, membrane technologies (R.O. MF and ultra filtration) desalination, disinfection (chlorination and UV), ion exchange, sludge treatment.

Significant experience in wastewater and sludge treatment Production of mass and energy balances Production of PFD’s and initial P&IDs’, Experience of industrial water and wastewater treatment Understanding of HAZOP and DSEAR Knowledge of hydraulics and ability to produce basic hydraulic profiles.

Production/input to design risk assessments and familiar with relevant HSE legislation Personal Qualities Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Capable of building and maintaining strong business relationships with internal line managers and external clients.

Ability to be flexible and to be able to multi-task and prioritise when necessary. Positive outlook and approachable manner. Well motivated, able to work as part of a team or in isolation when required.

Ability to lead and develop others Responsibilities The role of Chief Process Engineer within the MEP stream of Water Operations will require the individual to undertake the following duties across the national business: Develop the technical excellence of process engineering within MEP Enthusing and inspiring colleagues to achieve excellence in process engineering Actively supporting staff development and retention Proactively drive continual improvement throughout the team, identifying examples of applicable best practice and ensuring this is incorporated into business behaviour Represent within the water industry as the national Process figurehead responsible for reinforcing our technical reputation To develop collaborative relationships with all stakeholders at all levels Work with the MEP Management Team to develop new business especially within process engineering areas Support the strengthening of the Mechanical, Electrical & Process Engineering business stream to ensure it is profitable, sustainable and scalable Lead, direct and maximise delivery of the Process Engineering element of the business across water operations nationally, develop new business in the UK with the support of local Client Delivery Directors Adopt and employ Water Operations systems and processes to ensure a robust approach to technical quality and commercial and financial performance Maintain and monitor a professional and leading edge approach to the application of Health and Safety and CDM in the administration of business duties Undertaking technical work, including reviews and design, on a variety of projects for the water and industrial sectors Ensuring client satisfaction by management of the technical quality of deliverables through review and approval to a high standard Leading the development of technical relationships with clients Providing advice, leadership and support to colleagues at all levels to help solve technical engineering problems Project management on a variety of engineering projects including scoping, feasibility and design Contact Mark Downey 020 7531 5757 or water@anglo.com.
