Director, Campaign Planning & Donor Relations

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of of Director, Campaign Planning & Donor Relations to be based in Karachi, Pakistan.
Responsibilities
​Reporting to the Director General (DG) Resource Development, the primary function of the incumbent is to assist the DG in the development and implementation of a multi-year fund raising campaign that supports the overall strategic plans and mission of the University which currently operates in 8 countries with 5 teaching sites.
The incumbent will also manage the University’s donor relations and stewardship program, coordinate development related special events, manage the gift acknowledgement and recognition system as well as maintain contact with Resource Development Committees (RDCs) on an ongoing basis.
Key responsibilites include:
  • Develop an overall plan for integrated campaigns involving all professional staff and volunteer leadership;
  • Coordinate and manage activities related to individual campaign launches, events and programs;
  • Oversee the multi-year fundraising campaign including long term cultivation and solicitation plans;
  • Provide oversight for the campaign database including production of financial and staff assignment reports including tracking and follow-up of pledges;
  • Develop positive relationships with current and new donors and provide stewardship to the existing donors;
  • Participate in the cultivation and solicitation of major donors;
  • Supervise and develop campaign personnel through training and volunteer development strategies, and help individuals to achieve performance goals;
  • Coordinate with RDCs to ensure that the required documentation, conditions and collection requirements are complied with;
  • Ensure the Donor Recognition Policy is implemented by all concerned, including Volunteer Committees when required.
Requirements
  • ​Master’s degree preferably in Business Administration or Marketing;
  • Possess a proven track record as a seasoned development professional with 7 - 10 years of progressive experience with an academic or non-profit organization;
  • Demonstrated success in driving results as well as recognized accomplishments as a “leader among leaders”;
  • Knowledgeable about and committed to AKDN philosophy, goals, objectives and values, as well as the ability to communicate effectively and represent these to others;
  • Demonstrated success leading and managing professionals, support staff and volunteers to help achieve short and long term goals and competencies;
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing strategic plans and activities with clear goals and objectives;
  • Demonstrated understanding of the complexity of the volunteer/professional relationship and success managing those affiliations in a warm and professional manner;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work under pressure with patience and poise, and willingness to travel within and outside the base country;
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present at public platforms.
