The Department of Medicine offers comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for adults. There are independent sections of Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Neurology andPulmonary&Critical Care. The department has over 50 full-time Faculty with a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education and research. Residency programs are offered in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Adult Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary Medicine and Nephrology, as well as Fellowship programs in Clinical Neurophysiology & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism, Interventional Cardiology and Infectious diseases.
As part of its mission to provide comprehensive quality care to its patients, the Hospital plans to establish a renal transplantation program through collaboration with a center of excellence. The selected candidate will provide guidance in commissioning of this state-of-the-art renal transplant program as well as the development of an internationally recognized fellowship program in transplant nephrology.

Responsibilities
​Candidate will have independent consultant status and undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and specified administrative activities.
Requirements
​Candidates for this position must have completed a structured postgraduate training program from a reputable institution andpossess FCPS, MRCP, American Boards or equivalent qualification in Nephrology.They should also have completed structured training in transplant nephrology and have substantial postgraduate experience in renal transplantation at an internationally recognized, high-quality renal transplant facility. Applicants for Associate Professor should have at least eight years of teaching / research experience in an HEC recognized University or a postgraduate institution, with five years’ post-terminal experience of teaching. S/he should also have minimum eight research publications in journals recognized jointly by HEC and PMDC with at least two of these publications in the last five years, while those for Assistant Professor should have at least two years experience as Senior Instructor/equivalent.
