Salary £27,047 per annum (pro-rata if part time) together with USS Pension benefits, if required.
The ISS Web Team develop, support, guide and operate a diverse range of central web services including Content Management Systems, Collaboration Services, a Research Information System, a Research Repository and other research and support services. These services are currently based on Terminal 4 Site Manager, Microsoft SharePoint and a range of other platforms. The post-holder will work within the team to ensure that central web services provide fit for purpose, up-to-date and relevant facilities that support the strategic and operational aims of the University. 

While jointly providing core services, members of the team have their own specialism(s) and responsibilities in which they will lead development, training and support. Team members will be expected to provide guidance, support material and documentation for the services and Rich Internet Applications developed and operated by the team. 

Joining an established team your role is to develop and enhance the university’s use of the Terminal-Four Content Management System. Working closely with technical staff you will determine requirements, and develop solutions that integrate with existing systems and programming frameworks, including the setup and configuration of the technical environment. 

The provision of training, support and documentation are essential to the role. 

You must show experience of implementing a Content Management System in a complex environment, utilising corporate data stores. An enthusiasm for quality in development, together with familiarity of the Oracle database, and demonstrating a sound working knowledge of internet technologies such as CSS, XHTML, and scripting. Knowledge of Web Services, templating languages, AJAX, XML/XSL and Apache web server would be advantageous.
