Senior / Lead Health Economist Oxford Outcomes Ltd

This is an opportunity to work for Oxford Outcomes (part of ICON plc), an international company specialising in Health Economics, Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO), Epidemiology, and Translations and Linguistic Validation.  We have offices in Oxford (UK), Bethesda, New Jersey and San Francisco (USA), and Vancouver and Toronto (Canada).  We undertake consultancy projects for a range of international clients in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.  Our HE team is respected globally for the quality of their work and methodological innovations. The group also maintains links with high profile academics and staff are regularly invited to present and teach at international conferences.
We now seek a Senior or Lead Health Economist to join our HE group in Oxford. The candidate recruited for this role will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the department’s work and particularly to further their skills in decision modelling.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience in designing and developing health economic models
  • An understanding of methods for analysing individual patient level data for use in economic models ideally gained through hands on experience
  • Experience within a consulting, academic or pharmaceutical/ devices industry environment
  • Proven project management experience, in particular the ability to lead a team of junior analysts
  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in health economics or a related quantitative discipline, such as operational research, statistics, or epidemiology.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • High self-motivation
  • Leadership potential

The successful candidate would be expected to undertake international travel as required and may also have the opportunity to attend international conferences.  
This is a permanent, full time position. The salary is competitive and negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. The package on offer to the successful candidate includes the option of private health care, an attractive pension plan and 23 days annual leave initially rising to a maximum of 27 days. The role will be based in Oxford or London.
