Software Designer (Health Information Systems Team)

Introduction

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Software Designer (Health Information Systems Team).

Responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to be capable of planning and managing multiple modules of a large software implementation project independently through all phases of system implementation life cycle. He/she should have thorough understanding and working knowledge of data modeling and analysis techniques should be able to work closely with users to help define business requirements, understand the software functionality and generate a detail fit-gap analysis report with design considerations to meet business requirements. H/she will provide leadership to a number of Programmer Analysts in the enhancement and support of existing as well as new HIS modules / systems. S/he should have appropriate knowledge and understanding of software engineering, object-oriented analysis & design as well as high level of awareness pertaining to programming languages. He/she will have to carry out feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis and to formulate proposals for system enhancement, and implementation plans.

Requirements

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science/Engineering; At least eight years relevant experience; Excellent command over the programming languages; Excellent supervisory skills; Excellent inter-personal and communication skills; Ability to work in teams.
