The University of Reading is seeking to appoint a Team Leader for the University’s Student Financial Support team with responsibility for:
  • providing advice and direction as appropriate to the University in the area of Student Financial Support;
  • managing the provision of (and providing, as appropriate) advice to students in the area of Student Financial Support;
  • managing interaction with the Student Loan Company, HEFCE and other external bodies;
  • ensuring the accuracy and updating of student accounts with respect to tuition fees;
  • ensuring the efficient administration and allocation of all Hardship Funds provided by the HEFCE, the University, and the Student Loans Company;
  • ensuring the efficient administration of Studentships, Bursaries and Prizes allocated from central University funds and from external funds.
You will have:
  • Awareness of current policy and climate in HE in relation to student funding
  • Awareness of current systems for student financial support
  • A track record of effectively managing a customer-facing team
  • Experience of advisory work as well as  writing and delivering talks and presentations to diverse groups
  • The ability to remain calm, prioritise, make decisions and provide leadership under pressure
