Depth Imaging Project Leaders and Multicomponent Project Leaders manage seismic data processing projects, optimizing product quality through implementation of measures that maximize efficiency and minimize turnaround time.
Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain good client relations and ensure group processing meets client and company specifications with regard to data quality and schedule.
· Ensure accuracy of all testing and clear presentation of results, making recommendations for improvements where appropriate.
· Produce accurate forecasts and reports of project finances, status, and resource requirements.
· In collaboration with area geophysicists, design efficient processing sequences and testing flows that comply with all service quality initiatives and best practices.
· Manage and is accountable for all group activities and personnel movements.
· Liaise with technical support groups to ensure project quality and schedules are maintained.
· Keep abreast of developments in company geophysical software for seismic data processing, communications, and data transfer techniques.
· Provide training opportunities and assist with on-the-job training.
· Mentor less experienced project leaders.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in geophysics, geology, physics, mathematics, or similar scientific qualification.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in seismic data processing, including minimum 3 years in depth imaging or 3 years in multicomponent imaging for a Multicomponent Project Leader position.
· Working knowledge of geophysical and geological principles, signal processing, demultiple imaging, etc.
· Experience with QC of large volumes of seismic data, 3D visualization, attributes, and analysis.
· Project management experience essential.
