Position Description:
Provides support to the senior qualitative data analysts, project coordinators, and social scientists on HIV-related behavioral research studies. Assist in the conduct of qualitative dates. Contribute to the project coordination of HIV related behavioral research studies. May contribute to the development of manuscripts.
- Assists with the conduct of the analysis of qualitative data under supervision of senior data analyst and research staff
- Assist study team members with the coordination, elopement, review and revision of assigned study related documents including protocols, questionnaires, procedural manual, monitoring plans, analysis plans, reports, publications, etc.
- Assist with scientific and ethical approval procedures
- Assist protocol study coordinators with all aspects of project coordination and management
- Assist in monitoring the qualitative and quantitative progress of research and research implementation activities via site visits, telecommunications, letters and e-mail; assists with oversight of study-specific reporting and tracking of key indicators for evaluation of site performance and study progress
- Perform other related duties and assigned
Required Skills & Experience
- Familiar with basic aspects of research methodology and study design
- Prior experience with qualitative data analysis, specifically with coding qualitative date, using Nvivo 9, interpreting data, and writing summary reports preferred
- Prior experience in project coordination preferred
- Prior experience working in an international setting or with data collected in a region other than the US preferred
- Written, verbal, and organizational skills
- Relevant computer software skills and data analysis skills
Minimum Requirements:
MS/MA/MPH in public health or related field and at least one year intermediate professional level of knowledge and expertise in research methods and application or BS/BA in public health or related field and 2-4 years relevant experience; or AA and 5-7 years relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
