Behavioural Scientists London

£27,613 - £36,674 depending on skills and relevant experience

At MI5, there are all kinds of different jobs. Some are extremely complex. Some require specialist skills. Some you won’t find anywhere else. That’s what makes this role so attractive.
We are currently looking for Behavioural Scientists to support our work, including carrying out in-house research into issues relating to threats to national security such as terrorism and espionage, and offering behavioural science consultancy to ongoing operations.
You will be qualified to at least Masters level, ideally with expertise in occupational, clinical, social or forensic psychology. Expertise in security and intelligence matters is not required, however we would expect you to have an awareness of our role and the challenges we face, as well as an understanding of how your skills might help us meet those challenges.
Behavioural scientists without a Masters degree but with significant practitioner experience will also be considered. Strong empirical research skills and a commitment to evidence-based practice are vital.
An open-minded, creative and critical thinker, you are flexible in your approach and can work both autonomously and as part of a team. You are able to communicate complex psychological concepts and findings to a range of non-psychologists, making a significant contribution across the entire range of the Service’s business.
