Background / General description:
IFC’s Corporate Relations department is looking for a Corporate Communications Officer with extensive experience in designing and implementing strategic corporate communication campaigns aimed at media and stakeholder groups including clients, donors, and NGOs.

The Corporate Communications Officer’s main accountabilities are to serve as a focal point for the IFC Corporate Relations Practice Group in coordinating IFC contributions to World Bank Group-wide campaigns and events including Annual and Spring Meetings; lead or manage all aspects of major corporate communications campaigns; manage reputational risk tools; and prepare corporate media monitoring and other reports.

The Corporate Communications Officer will report directly to the Manager, IFC External Communications.

Duties and Accountabilities:
• Plan and manage corporate communications campaigns for IFC among media with a special emphasis on IFC initiatives in priority areas and sectors

• Pitch international media outlets and develop and nurture relationships with key journalists to increase coverage and understanding of IFC’s business and strategic priorities

• Promote understanding of IFC’s corporate goals and development impact using different communication channels and to a variety of stakeholders including clients, shareholders, and staff

• Coordinate with colleagues throughout the World Bank Group on Bank-group wide events and campaigns, as well as on reputational risk issues, leveraging resources and increasing awareness and understanding of IFC’s corporate priorities

• Support the communications needs of IFC departments as needed

Selection Criteria:
• Master’s degree, plus a minimum of 8 years work experience in strategic communications, media relations or stakeholder engagement.

• Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with demonstrated ability to lead and work in multidisciplinary teams.

• Ability to work effectively within a large group to meet collective objectives.

• Exceptional ability to write and operate under tight deadlines with accuracy and professionalism

• Flexibility, responsiveness and ability to manage multiple activities to tight deadlines.

• Excellent people management skills and openness to feedback, new ideas, and an ability to guide staff to find solutions to problems.
