Team Leader / Managing Director
Crown Agents is seeking an experienced Team Leader to provide overall direction and management of a health supply chain project in Sierra Leone. This 3-year, UNICEF funded project is intended to develop and manage a national autonomous pharmaceutical procurement and supply agency, with the overall aim of transferring capacity and ownership to local counterparts. The Team Leader will be responsible for the overall running of the project and support to health systems strengthening at national, state and county levels. A key objective of this project is to transfer ownership and stewardship of pharmaceutical procurement and supply chain delivery to the Government of Sierra Leone.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in senior management roles leading teams, preferably within Africa. Knowledge and experience of logistics and health supply chain is also crucial and an understanding of warehousing is advantageous. You will be working with a number of stakeholders and must have past experience of working in partnership with donors and high level government officials, ideally from within health ministries.
This role is an excellent opportunity for a health professional to further their career in taking charge of a complex and interesting pharmaceutical supply chain project resulting in substantial development and successes. Key Qualifications:
• Master’s level degree in health logistics, health supply chain or a health related discipline
• 10+ years’ experience managing and delivering pharmaceutical, health logistics, health supply chain programmes (experience in warehouse management is an asset)
• Extensive experience working Africa (previous experience working in Sierra Leone is beneficial)
• Proven experience in senior management positions, including management of large / complex projects in developing country contexts (management of a company is an asset)
• Experience in team leader roles including capacity building, strong advocacy and relationship building skills
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multicultural teams, partner organisations and donors to achieve results
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent written and spoken English
