The Global Education Practice has exciting plans to expand its portfolio with major bilateral and multilateral clients .To support this expansion, we will appoint an Education Practice Area Senior Specialist who will be responsible for i) developing opportunities for GRM to provide technical services to key clients and (ii) overseeing and directly delivering GRM services in fields that primarily include:
  • Basic Education (Primary/Secondary)                                                                                                 
  • Tertiary Education
  • Girls Education
  • Youth and Workforce Development
  • Education in Fragile and Conflict-Afflicted States
  • Scholarship Programs
  • Access for hard to reach populations
  • Research, Monitoring and Evaluation.

You will ideally demonstrate:

  • Graduate degree in International Education, Social Sciences or related discipline;
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience in the education sector;  
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in international development within a reputable consultancy in a project position or within a donor agency/relevant organization;
  • Prior experience with DFID a plus;
  • Extensive experience in financial management and budgeting;
  • Commercial “savvy” coupled with innate ability to think strategically;  
  • Ability to influence and liaise at a senior level;
  • Success in working with Ministries of Education, Associations and CSOs;
  • A track record of successful business development and client relationship management skills;
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad approximately 30% of the time in developing countries and elsewhere.
