CBM is an international
development organisation, committed to improving the quality of life of
persons with disabilities in the poorest countries of the world. Based
on its values and over 100 years of professional expertise, CBM
addresses poverty as a cause and a consequence of disability, and works
in partnership to create a society for all. CBM’s vision is: “an
inclusive world in which all persons with disabilities enjoy their human
rights and achieve their full potential”.
In 2010, CBM started to use an intranet based on Sharepoint technology
and has seen an increasing number of users since then. Today, about 350
CBM staff in more than 20 offices worldwide are connected to Sharepoint,
the majority of them in developing countries. The number of users is
expected to grow to about 650 persons in 2013. The main applications of
the Sharepoint intranet relate to document management and team sites for
collaboration, incl. shared calendars, task lists, etc. All existing
sites were built on out-of-the-box functionality of Sharepoint2007. A
