Duties:
- Strategic leadership and operational management of the division, giving expression to its vision of a world-class centre for innovation in nutrition policy and practice;
- initiating and guiding collaborative research and teaching programmes in priority areas;
- teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in advanced aspects of nutrition science, food & nutrition policy, as well as nutrition programme management;
- supervising Master's and Doctoral students;
- serving on University and external committees;
- expanding community interaction initiatives.
- Doctorate OR advanced stage of completing a Doctorate (for appointment at Associate Professor level) relevant to the field of nutrition;
- proven management experience in academic or related environments;
- undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience;
- proven independent research experience and interaction with national and international nutrition-relevant institutions or agencies;
- experience of successful postgraduate supervision (minimum Master's level).
- Experience in continuing professional education, advocacy and policy dialogue on food and nutrition;
- compliance with criteria for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
