Georgia Editor Intern

The Economic Policy Research Center, a think-tank based in Tbilisi, is looking for an Editor Intern.

Internship profile: Largely desk-based. Work mainly involves editing studies, reports and a newsletter, improving methodology and content as well as language. The remaining time will be taken up with conducting research on macroeconomics and public budget issues. Interns will have considerable latitude to develop their own research agendas.
This is an excellent opportunity for highly skilled, hard-working and self-motivated individuals who would like to work towards a career in aid, development, journalism, or political or economic analysis.
The intern is expected to make a strong contribution towards all aspects of EPRC’s work. He/she will gain experience in conducting research, fundraising proposal development, and donor report writing and editing.
Applicants MUST have the following:
• Masters in economics, finance, business or related field
• Outstanding research skills
• Very strong analytical skills
• Excellent English language writing skills (not “good” – we mean excellent)
• The ability and drive to independently seek areas where they can contribute
• A sense of adventure
The intern will be expected to organize and finance his/her own health insurance and travel to Georgia. EPRC will provide free accommodation in return for four days of full-time work a week. The intern is expected to meet all other living costs (food etc) by teaching private English lessons in his/her spare time; EPRC will help the intern to find paying students. Note that accommodation may be very basic, and that making ends meet might be a struggle at times.
