In
early 2011, DMI launched the world’s first scientific trial to examine
how many lives can be saved using mass media campaigns alone. This
major, 4-year project is underway in Burkina Faso, West Africa, in
collaboration with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
(LSHTM). Our mathematical model predicts that if we could conduct
campaigns in 12 countries over the next 10 years, we should save one
million lives. We are looking for an Executive Assistant of the
highest-calibre to help us achieve that goal.
S/he will be London-based, and required to provide comprehensive administrative support to senior management staff as well as project staff in the field. S/he will be responsible for maintaining efficient office systems and will assist DMI’s CEO with PA functions.
The successful candidate will have at least one year’s experience in administration, be highly intelligent and organised, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office computer packages and IT more generally is very important. Above all the applicant must be a real problem solver with a strong sense of initiative, who will relish the prospect of multi-tasking in a fast-paced, flexible environment, keeping a sense of humour under pressure. French language skills would be an advantage.
To apply please send your CV (max. 2 pages) and a cover letter (max. 1 page) which systematically outlines why your experience fits the job description and skills requirements. Please send to jobs@developmentmedia.net by end of 3 October. Applicants may also attend one of 2 presentations on DMI’s work, detailed in the job description.
