Chemonics seeks a chief of party for an anticipated USAID-funded project in Jamaica that will promote a more peaceful and transparent democracy through safer communities, improved policing, and increased accountability and integrity in government. The program will capitalize on existing USAID investments in democracy and governance and build on opportunities that promote community-based partnerships to prevent crime and violence, support the rule of law, increase citizen participation and youth engagement, and create leadership for reform. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
* Provide technical direction and overall management of project activities
* Oversee delivery of technical assistance
* Coordinate with counterparts and partners
* Liaise with USAID
* Supervise a diverse team of professional staff
Qualifications:
* Advanced degree in a relevant field required
* Minimum 10 years of relevant, progressively responsible experience and a proven record of implementing or managing democracy and governance projects
* USAID chief of party experience preferred
* Competence in leadership, client relations, and project and contract management
* Experience collaborating with government officials, international donors, implementing partners, and other relevant sector stakeholders
* Experience working in Jamaica or other parts of the Caribbean
* Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
* Excellent written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication skills
* English fluency required; proficiency in Dutch, Spanish, or French a plus
