FINCA International is currently looking for candidates for its new Credit Apprenticeship Program (CAP). This program will offer a unique opportunity for the candidate to enter into the microfinance sector as a loan officer in training. The duration of this program is 6 months, renewable until 9 months. This program requires 100% self-funding from the apprentice. FINCA encourages the candidates to seek funding from universities, foundations, etc. In addition, the apprentice will have to fund his /her return ticket to the country of assignment and to subscribe emergency evacuation insurance.
Ideal profile:
- Bachelor's required (economics, business, finance, or equivalent),
- Previous field experience in developing countries required, preferably in the region of assignment,
- Study/initial work experience in the microfinance, finance and/or development fields highly desirable,
- Strong commitment to microfinance,
- Availability and strong willingness to work in a developing country,
- Flexibility to work in varied environments,
- Teamwork skills and respect for cultural differences,
- Fluency in local language: Russian, Spanish, French, or Arabic and English required.
