Position Description:
Works closely with senior research staff to develop, implement, manage and/or analyze research studies. For this position we are especially interested in someone who has good SAS programming and statistical analysis skills.
- Work closely with senior research staff to conduct research studies by taking the lead in one or more major research activities (e.g., site training, protocol development, project management, study implementation, data analysis, data monitoring, data management, clinical monitoring, paper/report writing).
- Represent FHI at developing country project sites, regulatory meetings, donor meetings and professional meetings as needed.
- Provide technical assistance to Research Assistants, interns, in-country colleagues and others as needed.
- Responsible for study-specific reporting and tracking of key indicators for evaluation of site performance and/or data quality.
- Ensure compliance of assigned studies with Good Clinical Practice’s (GCP’s), FDA, FHI policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or other standards as appropriate.
- Prepares data monitoring plans, data analysis plans, protocols, final reports and/or publications.
- Monitors the qualitative and quantitative progress of research and research implementation activities via site visits, telecommunications, letters and e-mail; oversees study-specific reporting and tracking of key indicators for evaluation of site performance and study progress.
- Conducts data analysis.
- Prepares budgets and necessary agreements.
- Prepares study administration and analysis tools.
- With minimal supervision, manage high volume work flow.
- Written, verbal, organizational skills.
- Knowledge of public health research methodology as related to data collection instruments, data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of statistical methods used in data analysis.
- Knowledge of and ability to use electronic data processing systems to gather, store, retrieve and analyze data.
- Experience with SAS programming and statistical analysis
- Resourceful in resolving problems and initiating solutions.
- Ability to travel (domestically and internationally) as needed up to a maximum of 25%
Minimum Requirements:
MS/MA/MPH and 5-8 years relevant experience and professional level of knowledge and expertise in research methods and application; or BS/BA in public health or related field and 8+ years relevant experience and professional level of knowledge and expertise in research methods and application.
