With funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the International Youth Foundation (IYF) is working in partnership with the Jordanian Ministry of Social Development (MOSD) to design and implement Youth:Work Jordan (YWJ) - a five year holistic youth development program to improve social services and protection for vulnerable populations, with an overarching focus on youth employability and civic engagement. YWJ will achieve this goal through the delivery of comprehensive community based activities to meet the needs of disadvantaged youth between 5 and 24 years of age that fall under four components: 1) Increased Youth Access to Market-Driven Life, Employability, and Entrepreneurial Skills Training; 2) Provision of Youth Friendly Services; 3) Expanded Civic Engagement of Youth; and 4) Policy Coordination.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a life skills trainer providing direct life skills training for youth in YWJ target communities as needed.
- Coordinate the implementation of IYF’s life skills program, as well as other life skills activities by CBOs. This will include the writing of scopes of work for free-lance trainers, coordinating training schedules, and assigning trainers to various trainings sites. The trainer will also monitor the free-lance trainers through regular site visits to ensure on time delivery and program quality of curricula according to YWJ’s minimum standards.
- Support Life Skills Specialist and Monitoring & Evaluation team in the organization and delivery of pre and post training assessments of youth, as well as in coordinating any evaluation surveys of trainers.
- Assist in providing technical support to the community based organizations (CBOs) in support of life skills activities for program interventions under YWJ’S Community Action Plans.
- Provide input for regular updates on implementation progress and assist in the preparation of appropriate contributions to quarterly reports and generate other technical reports as required.
- Identify any problems and challenges that may arise and offer solutions accordingly.

Supervised by the Youth:Work Jordan Life Skills Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, a social sciences discipline, or similar field.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working in international development, ideally in youth education, health or workforce development programming.
- Experience in conducting and evaluating training activities.
- Must possess strong attention to detail, reliability, organizational and time management skills. Flexibility to respond to some periods of high pressure is required.
- Must possess high level of confidence with MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Oral and written English & Arabic fluency is required.
- Must be a self starter who takes initiative and is able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time within Jordan.
